TAKEOVER

01 – 03 MAR,  EXCEL,  LONDON

FUTUREBUILD A! stamp.png

On March 01 – 03 Futurebuild took place at the ExCel in London – "the home of innovation in construction". ACAN had a sizeable floor space, where we were spotlighting all of our regional and thematic groups, as well as showcasing low-carbon construction build-ups and giving live building demonstrations in hempcrete, straw, earth and lime.

We also did a takeover of the main bar area, where we provoked discussions around all of the themes of our groups: circular economy, climate literacy, embodied carbon, education, professional standards, planning, where the wild things aren’t, existing buildings, and natural materials.

And we participated in some of the seminar sessions, including curating a presentation entitled ‘Natural Materials in Practice’, in the Keynote Stage 2, with speakers: Mhairi Grant (Paper Igloo) and Ben Humphries (Architype). This talk was recorded and we'll put a link to watch it here as soon as it's available.

IN-REAL-LIFE OPEN MEETING,  WED 02.03.22

At 5pm on Wednesday 2nd March, we took over the bar area at Futurebuild with a LIVE open meeting! This in-real-life meeting was a huge success, and gave an opportunity for people to hear about ACAN and engage in discussions focussed around each of the thematic groups.

WITH THANKS TO ALL THOSE WHO CONTRIBUTED
