We’re incredibly excited to announce that, for the first time, there are a number of paid opportunities to work with Architects Climate Action Network!
We are looking for several people to help develop our campaigning strategy, coordinate international outreach, fundraise and carry out administrative tasks. These are all part-time, temporary contracts, intended to help ACAN take its next steps over the coming months. They would all be suitable for freelance workers or secondment from practice. We welcome applications and expressions of interest from all walks of life, whether or not you have been involved in ACAN previously. Please see further info on each of the roles below.

Administrative Support - £25 - 38 per hour. 10 months fixed term. c. 1 day per week from Jan 2023.
We are looking for an individual to take a key role in supporting with the administration of ACAN’s administration. Although advantageous if the applicant is already familiar to ACAN, the role is open to anyone with relevant experience, and who is passionate about climate action in the built environment. We are looking for someone who will be proactive, is highly organised and has good communication skills. The administrative lead will act as the coordinator and point of contact for the work packages below.

Campaigns Strategy Lead - £28,000 - fixed sum. 10 month fixed term. c. 2 days per week from Jan 2023.
We are looking for an individual, or organisation, with political and/or environmental campaigning and strategy experience, who wants to inform & shape ACAN’s work going forward and maximise our impact. Your role will include the following responsibilities and outputs:

The creation of a short term (2 year) campaigns strategy that highlights the most effective action we can take to achieve our three core goals.

Development of a Campaign Delivery Plan - a framework for campaign delivery to maximise reach and impact in the short and long-term. This will include working with ACAN volunteer groups to operationalise the delivery plans for our leading campaigns, and refine a replicable framework to structure future campaigns.

Facilitating workshops with ACAN’s coordinator groups, to develop the campaigns strategy and delivery plans.

International Outreach Lead - £12,000 fixed sum - 10 months fixed term - 1 day per week
We are looking for an individual to help broaden and nurture our international chapters and strengthen the network between them. ACAN has international chapters in Ireland, India, Finland, Norway, Portugal, Sweden & Spain and affiliated organisations in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Austria, Chile & France. This role will include mapping our international network & facilitating conversations between international groups.

Fundraiser - £12,000 fixed sum - 10 months fixed term - 1 day per week
We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to help secure future funding for ACAN, and support our organisation in achieving long term financial sustainability. This is the first such role at ACAN and the successful applicant will have the opportunity to shape the future fundraising strategy of our organisation. ACAN is a community benefit society.
