ACAN International Roles Recruitment 2024

We have an exciting and rare opportunity for 5 passionate individuals to join our International Movement Support team. This pro-bono, voluntary role offers more than just a chance to contribute - you’ll be at the forefront of expanding ACAN’s global reach, playing a key role in shaping our vision, mission, and activities beyond the UK. This experience will not only bolster your CV, but also allow you to build invaluable networks and shape the future of your career in sustainability. Join us in helping to define the future of ACAN and the global climate movement!

ACAN is a dynamic network of individuals within architecture and related built environment professions dedicated to addressing the urgent challenges posed by climate and ecological breakdown. Our mission is clear: to initiate systemic change within our profession and the construction industry as a whole, in response to the climate emergency. We achieve this through political campaigning and lobbying, direct action and public engagement, as well as research and knowledge sharing.

ACAN is active in 10 countries and counting - ACAN Netherlands held its official launch event in Rotterdam yesterday. In the past few months alone we have collaborated on a manifesto that is being distributed to the European commission and European Parliamentary members and worked with groups Architects For Future and Le mouvement pour une Frugalité heureuse et créative to issue a statement after the EU elections. The Embodied Carbon Declared (Byggutsläppslistan) initiative from ACAN Sweden and Differ was honoured by Fast Company on their yearly list of WORLD CHANGING IDEAS.

For the next two weeks, we're focused on the 2024 ACAN! International Movement Support recruitment. We're calling on ambitious changemakers who share our principles and are eager to shape the future of ACAN! globally. If you're ready to make an impact, now's your chance to join the International Movement Support team!

What is involved?

We are looking for 5 individuals to fulfil the following tasks (click the link to read more about each role):

International Movement Support commitments:

As a member of the ACAN International Movement Support, you are expected to:

  • Attend International ACAN meetings (approximately once a month),

  • Pre-read any documents provided for meetings and commit to any actions agreed upon during meetings,

  • Generic coordinator responsibilities plus individual responsibilities outlined in the respective role (this may involve additional meetings, depending on role),

  • Additionally, we encourage engagement with ACAN's wider community and campaigns.

  • Be objective and without bias. You should set aside personal agendas to ensure that decisions made prioritise the success and integrity of ACAN above all else. Your dedication to these commitments is crucial in driving forward our collective mission.

The anticipated time commitment is approximately 2 hours per week, with additional engagement in essential communications. Certain periods may be quieter and others may see increased activity depending on what is happening in the wider organisation.

Your expected start date will be 10 October 2024. The roles are for a fixed 6 month term.

Who are we looking for?

We welcome applications from all countries!

Ideal candidates will possess strong leadership skills, strategic thinking abilities, and a collaborative mindset. You will actively contribute to decision-making processes, drive initiatives forward, and engage with other Coordinators and the Movement Support Team effectively. Additionally, you will uphold the values of openness, support, and inclusivity, fostering a positive and productive working environment within the group.

We are recruiting for 5 roles. If you are specifically interested in any of these roles, please mention that on your application.

How to apply

Please submit a CV and a statement (approx 300 words) outlining your ambition for joining the International Movement Support team and your vision for the coming 6 months to International@architectscan.org by 17:00 BST on Friday, 4 October 2024.

If you have questions or if you would like an informal chat about the roles and responsibilities of the International Movement Support team, please do not hesitate to contact Brigitte, Sarah or Armelle from Movement Support at the earliest opportunity.

If you are looking forward to visiting the most vibrant nightlife of Sarojini Nagar Escort, then the escorts are the right persons to accompany you. They know where all the lit places to enjoy the night in-between a plush bar or any club can be. Their company will make every night seem like a wild adventure filled with laughter and connection.

I really regret that I missed this recruitment round because it was past the slope run time. I wonder if there will be a recruitment round in the future?
